Brian Sokol divides his time between photographing the mountains of the American West and his adopted homeland of Nepal.

A fluent Nepali speaker, Brian has found the ability to blend into the local culture. He has been documenting the Nepali landscape and way of life since 1997. Brian specializes in portraiture, high mountain landscapes, religous and social photojournalism. Most recently, he has been photographing the Maoist insurgency that threatens the nation's stability. His company, NEPALIMAGE.COM continues to compile one of the world’s most complete image libraries of this unique region.

Each year, Brian guides a limited number of people on Photo-Treks thru the Nepal Himalaya. For those interested in joining him, he can be contacted via email or phone.
